This award is presented to Kolping members at the National Convention.

Convention takes place on even years (every two years) on Labor Day weekend.

DISTINGUISHED SERVICE AWARD RESUME GUIDELINES Complete Resume as Follows: " Enter nominees name as it is to appear on the DSA plaque " Enter complete address as requested " Enter the date joined and the number of years of service of the nominee " Under Local and National Contributions categories, enter any positions, chairpersonships or other significant areas of participation that apply to the nominee " Under Extraordinary Service, enter specific efforts or achievements demonstrated on Kolping's behalf " Two local Kolping family DSA Nomination Committee members need to sign the completed resume and return it to the national office by the requested date Nominee Qualifications: " The Distinguished Service Award is the highest honor bestowed on a member of the Catholic Kolping Society of America. The national office requests that careful consideration be given to the nomination process and that the following qualifications be considered: " The nominee needs to be a long standing member; a member of no less than 10 years " The nominee needs to have demonstrated extraordinary service on behalf of Kolping (i.e. promotion of the Society's ideals and goals) Responsibilities of the National Office " The National Secretary will request nominations from the local Kolping families in non-convention years " The resumes will be reviewed by a committee of persons from the national board of directors; it is this committee's perrogative to request additional information regarding the nominee and to either accept or reject a nominee for the award " The National Secretary will officially notify the local Kolping family of its award recipient(s) prior to the National Convention
